I can't imagine how much time I would spend if I spent time looking at Pinterest, too many cool things! I already spend a lot of time looking at galleries and blogs which is mostly where I get my inspiration!

I noticed a lot of you mentioned you were scared of Pinterest because it might eat up even more time.  Here's the good part.  Yes, you can find a million and one great ideas on Pinterest that others have pinned but you can pin your own ideas.  I can't tell you how many times I visit someone's blog and get excited over a really cool card, layout or project.

I have their blog in my reader so of course I'll remember to come back later and try my own version of their project right?  Wrong.  By the time I get around to it, I'm searching 6 months of blog entries to find the original post.  I could print it out but I hate wasting the ink sometimes.

Pinterest allows me to 'pin' the original post on that blog to one of my boards.  So next Christmas when I'm looking for the recipe I saw last year, I can hit up my food board and find it.  The link takes me back to the original blog post.  Its a time saver actually.  So while I run through my list of updated blogs each morning I pin as I go.

So for anyone that gets their ideas from blogs and doesn't want to give Pinterest a try, take a second look.  I didn't want another site either but this one helps me organize the ideas.  I'm actually doing more crafting because of Pinterest.  I planned an entire baby shower with ideas from Pinterest.  My next big project is the Second Annual Halloween party this October.  Those Halloween lines are shipping soon and I can't want to get my hands on them to start making things for the party.

Also, I'll be following those of you who left your Pinterest name in the comments.  I love new ideas!

Inspiration

Where do you get it?  Aside from the many blogs I have bookmarked (its scary how many I have....) I turn to Pinterest a lot.  I have some fun boards set up.  I try to remember to link to the original post or site where I found the idea if possible.

Here are some of my boards.....

I have one more winner to pick.  Leave a comment here telling me where you get your inspiration and ideas.  If you have a Pinterest account, link me up!  I'll pick both winners on Friday and announce them here.  You have 4 days to email and claim your Stash Cash, other wise I'll pick a new name.  we can't have unclaimed Stash Cash around.  ;)

Don't forget, you have even more chances to win on the other blogs and Facebook too.  Oh and the DT Scraplift  Challenge ends on Monday, August 1st.  Make sure you link up your project to the appropriate post for a chance to win.

Time for a Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Summer Hop!

We're all sharing some fun things with you for the next 4 days.  Make sure you check out the links below to head over to Alyssa's blog.

Here's an update on my Summer Smash book.  Click here to see the first post.  I'm documenting our entire summer in this one book.  All of our activities.

The first page is our trip to San Diego on the Amtrak.  My son loves trains so we take him at least once a month - either to San Diego or LA.  The second page is a picture of my cousin Tammy holding Nick.  Great shot of them but not one I'm going to actually scrapbook.  And I found the perfect use for those chip flowers from the October Afternoon 5 & Dime line.....

Some of those cool Smash pockets hold our ticket stubs and other pictures from the trip.  I have the Canon Selphy printer.  I printed out 12 different photos before choosing the ones I want on the page.  The rest went in the pocket.
Another trip to Chuck E. Cheeses.  Thats what happens when you live right around the corner from one.  Plus we had a bag of tickets to redeem from the field trip.

Next up was our harbor cruise in Newport Beach.  I got a great Groupon Deal for this and bought several of them.  I figured we could all go at least twice this summer.

I like to look at the boats and houses and pick out the ones I would buy if I had a million dollars.....
This page stumped me but I can't bear to rip it out.  So it became the movie ticket stub page.  All of our ticket stubs will go here.  So far we have Hangover 2 and Cars 2.
If you haven't purchased a Smash book yet, you should.  These are great ways of taking your scrapbooking on the road.  The next update I have will be the pages I got done during our Calgary trip!

Thanks for checking out my latest Smash ideas.  I have two Stash Cash certificates to give away this week.  Leave a comment on this post with your fun summer plans ....... then, head on over to Alyssa's blog now for even more chances to win.  I'll draw (1) winner on Friday July 29th!  You can also win some of the new Fancy Pants lines (win it before you can buy it!) by participating in our Scraplift Challenge.  Lift any idea from the July Gallery for a chance to win.  All of the details are over on the store blog.

Roadtrip!

After an exciting day at the Stampede, it was off to Banff and Lake Louise for the night.

There were a couple of things in Calgary (Canada as a whole actually) that I think America can benefit from.  I've never seen this before so excuse me if your city has it.  I was in Toronto and Vancouver and never saw these.

Its a sign that tells you how many parking spaces are available in the parking lot.  And to make it even better, once you're inside the garage Parkade, there are little red and green lights above very space.  If there is a car there, the light is red.  If the space is empty, its green.  So theres no crawling up to a space to see if its empty only to find some smart car parked there.  This is just genius.

On our way!  A parting shot of Calgary.
We passed the ski jumps from the Calgary Olympics.
Open road.  Banff is about 85 miles from my dads apartment in Calgary so it was a short drive.  It took a few minutes for the scenery to change from city to this.  Those are the Rockies in the distance.
 Someone passed out early.
Getting Closer.....
I was taking pictures out of the car window the entire time.  My dad was good about stopping but if he had stopped every time I needed to get a shot we could have walked to Banff faster......
Just inside the 'foothills'.  The water was so clear in some spots.

A quick family shot.  Nick didn't want his picture taken at all but he gave in and let me take one with grandma and grandpa.  When I handed the camera to my dad, he threw a fit.  Don't worry, I'll get him later!
The clouds rolled in as we got further in.

Entering Banff National Park.  It took me almost 20 frames to capture that flag.

Carved by nature.  I could live here.  I want to wake up to this every morning.
The water is so pure because its glacial water.
 Castle Rock
Lake Louise.  We stopped at the Chateau Lake Louise.

Here is one off their website.  The weather was bad so my shots are horrible too.
 Told you I got one!
This chipmunk came right up to us and looked at Nick.  When Nick didn't give him food, he took off.  I was standing this close to him.  No zoom.
After Lake Louise, we headed back to Banff with a detour to Lake Moraine.

Again, my pictures don't do this place justice.  The water was this intense color of aqua.   Check here for some pictures of the Lake and area.  I know a lot of it was battling the clouds.

Heading back down to Banff.  I love snow covered mountains.  As much as I love shots from an airplane window......
Back in Banff.  Cute little town.  I had about an hour to shop before the stores closed down for the night.  By the way, it stays light late in Calgary.  This shot was taken around 10pm.
The next morning, my dad did a courtesy drive by at the Banff Springs Hotel.  The website has better pictures of course.  Anyone want to join me this winter?  I totally need to see this place covered in snow!

Tuesday begins the blog hop so the rest of the trip will come after the 29th.  I have some scrap related posts scheduled every day this week beginning on Tuesday!
